Hawes Community Primary School

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. W.B. Yeats

When I first heard about befunky I thought it wouldn’t be that special. When I went on it, I found out it was brilliant. The affects are cool. I like the cartoons and pop art affects. What are your favourite affects? I liked the 13th one especially because it shows the main bit of the picture but the surrounding area still stands out.

Dear Mr. Eldridge and Year 4,This is a marvelous assortment of images! The artist, Andy Warhol, came to mind when I first saw the thumbnails. I agree that BeFunky is a great website! Our students had some fun using photo editing sites just before Christmas. We received your fantastic postcard in the mail. This is indeed a lovely resource. I love that the children did all the photography and adjustment themselves. It’s also fascinating that whilst I would play with Manet and Pointillist options all day long, the children like ‘grunge’ patriotic and starburst! Actually they would put rabbit teeth on everyone as well. Have a go you will enjoy it.Mr E

  19. Mrs M says:

Fabulous photos – I particularly like the photos of hoops where the colours of the hoops are really bright and vivid – it looks fantastic. Some of these photos would look amazing blown up and framed in your hallway areas. I am inspired! Thank you for sharing another great idea.

  20. David Eldridge says:

I must admit to liking smaller schools. We have no year groups bigger than 15 and the smallest is year 3 with 6! It is nice to have the chance to get to know everyone. I guess as with most things there are swings and roundabouts. The thing I greatly appreciate about the children in my school is that they are well mannered and generally enthusiastic. It's good to have a connection with another small school. Do try 'befunky' it's great fun and a good entry point for the children.Β

Dear Year 4I love your portfolio of playground photos and the effects you have created!Befunky.com looks like a great program to use.On another note, I was interested to read that there are only 12 children in all of year 4. We also have small year groups at our school, for instance there are only 13 Year 3 children and 11 Year 2 children in our school!I think smaller schools are nice as you get to now everyone really well. What do you think?from Mrs McKenzie
